Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is part of the larger ecosystem, the Virunga Conservation Area( 434Sq Km) which includes two adjacent parks in Rwanda and Congo.
It was formed to protect the rare mountain Gorillas that inhabit it’s dense forests , and it is also an important habitat for the endangered golden monkey.
The hotel is also home to travellers who wish to undertake an 8 hours climb of Muhavura Volcano, 6 hour climb of Mgahinga Volcano, 4 hour hike of Sabinyo Gorge, a walk to Lake Mutanda and to explore the Batwa trail. Some guests spend a night in Rwanda before the tacking date, thereafter take a 2 hour drive to Kisoro.
